Obituary: St. Cloud Times, St Cloud, Minnesota, 27 June 1949
Frank Hofmann, prominent business man of Albany for the past 40 years, died June 25 at the age of 58 years. [He was] a life-time resident of Albany and father of 15 children, 13 of whom survive. He will be buried on Wednesday; the requiem mass at Seven Dolors church at 10 a.m. and burial in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the family residence. A nephew, Rev. Bernard Lenarz, will be the mass celebrant.
Mrs. Hofmann survives with the following sons and daughters: Joseph Hofmann, Grand Forks; Mrs. Martin Crowe [Helen], Eau Claire, Wis.; Mrs. Frank Petroske [sic] [Florence], St. Paul; Mrs. Norbert Schmidt [Monica], Melrose; Mrs. Virgil Hemker [Lola], Freeport; Victor, Spring Park; Mrs. Lloyd Baggenstoss [Clara], Albany; Pfc. Anthony USA, Fairbanks, Alaska; Valerian, Robert, Patrick, Mary Ann and Jane Hofmann, Albany.
A brother [sic: Vernon was the son of Francis Hofmann], Vernon Hofmann, was killed in action over Italy [sic: Vernon was killed over Germany] in 1945. Surviving brothers and sisters are Ben Hofmann of Orr; Andrew of Santa Ana, Calif.; Rudolph, St. Cloud; Leo, Lapeer, Mich.; Dominic, Anaheim, Calif.; Bert, Santa Ana, Calif.; Mrs. A. C. Lenarz [Sophie], St. Cloud; Mrs. Andrew Pratschner [Anna], Albany.
Mr. Hofmann was born December 6, 1890, in Albany and had been in business there all his life.
