About Francis Kerr
GEDCOM Note
Dear Mark and Judy, Thank you so much for the contact. Please disregard the date of the photo. An error somewhere along the line and I am unable at themoment to find the original following my recent move. My grandmother emigrated to Canada in 1922 and this istaken in Ayrshire. Yours is an important contact as the relationship isclose and it is always a happy day to meet new cousins with whom we shareancestry. Photo: Back row is from left Ann b 1868 , Catherine 1869 and Margaret 1875 Seated rightJessie 1882, Mary centre1880 and then Jane Kerr seated left. This will give youa look into the face of your ancestral grandmother Jane Kerr, a beloved sisterto my grandmother as well as to Jessie. I am sure this love extended to her other sisters and her only brotherFrancis. Having heard of Jane through my mother and fortunately having contactwith the granddaughter of Jessie Kerr for the past 15yrs have made some strong headway into our family. Depending on what and how much information you would like to know on the family, I am willing toshare. I just ran a register and had alook through and there is so much to look through that I thought maybe I wouldstart with the parents of your Jane, Francis Kerr and Anne Caldwell married inArdrossan 1866. There is information on Ancestry that will list thefamily but I have never given the notes which are in many ways sensitive giventhat our family were very poor and given a great deal of hardships. These notes have never been posted on lineand that is something that I need to know will be kept within the family. I amincluding one Poor Relief applicationfor Anne, mother of Jane. I havebeen in Ayrshire and able to access these records from the library on film ,they give an enormous amount of information which has been helpful to come to arealization of what the family endured and the life that they lived inSaltcoats.. I am sure you can see why I don't want them posted online. Noted on this one is Margaret Kerrwife of David Gibb. I also have contactwith Eddie Gibb, the grandson of Margaret who still lives in Saltcoats.
