On record from Poland genealogy group ; Franz Nicodemus Zimmermann bron 15th Sept 1849 in Tomaszewo , Starogard , Poland . He married Barbara Zella / Cylka in 1874 . They came to New Zealand with their son Joseph Zimmerman along with Michael Zimmerman , Franz brother in 1876. They first landed at Wellington. The ship had fever on board and the ship had to be lime washed . One month later they along with all other people from the ship were taken to Jackson Bay South Island. They had hard time there.
