About Frank Montgomery Avery

He was educated at the Adelphi Academy, Brooklyn; at the University of Heidelberg, Germany ; and, in law, at the New York University. He engaged in literary work; after admission to the bar, he formed a partnership which became the well known firm of Phillips & Avery, New York City. He is one of the founders of the Military Order of Foreign Wars of the United States and the judge advocate-general; member of the Sons of the American Revolution, of the Colonial Wars, of the Mayflower Descendants, of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion, of the Society of the War of 1812 ; a fellow of the American Geographical Society. He has farms in Sussex Co., N. J., and, with his oldest son as manager, is raising pure-bred dairy cattle. Residence, Brooklyn, N. Y. ; summer home, Sparta, N. J.
