Aberdeen Daily News Sunday March 5, 1988, page 10 Frank Ashton Howe-Cresbard Cresbard-The funeral for Frank Ashton Howe, 93, Cresbard, will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Cresbard. The Rev. Peter Ackerman will officiate. Burial will be in Cresbard Cemetery. Luce Funeral Home, Faulkton, is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Howe died Thursday, March 3, 1988 at his home. Frank Ashton Howe was born Nov. 3, 1894 to Frank A. and Ella Mae (Kenerson) Howe in Barre, VT. He and his family moved to a farm near Mellette in 1909. He married Frances Rosenau in Faulkton Dec. 18, 1912. They farmed in the Cresbard area until they moved into Cresbard in 1972. Survivors include one son, Frank Howe, Faulkton; two daughters, Mildred White and Mrs. Otto (Gladys) Kretschmar, both of Cresbard; two sisters, Marjorie Calhoon, Rapid City; and Gertrude Smoot, Beloit, Kansas; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, five brothers, one sister and one granddaughter. Pallbearers will be grandsons Craig and Monte Kretschmar and Robert, Richard, Russell and Frank Howe. The organist will be Leah Cowhick, and soloists will be Herbert Cowhick and granddaughter Kim Grote. Claire Kono and Norman Paul will usher, and Ina Holsing will be in charge of the guestbook.
