Private Frank Noel McGOWEN, a 19 year old Agricultural Student from Hawkesbury Collage, New South Wales. He enlisted on 24 August 1914; and subsequently Died of Wounds, 24 August 1915.

A student at Hawkesbury Agricultural College, Richmond, NSW, he enlisted in a group of about 20 from the college. He embarked on HMAT Southern (A27) on 23 September 1914. He was wounded on the Gallipoli peninsula, evacuated to Alexandria but died of these wounds on 24 August 1915, aged 20. Pte McGowen was the youngest son of the first labor Premier of NSW James Sinclair Taylor McGowen, 1910-1913.
