Frank R Volk, one of Emmons County's oldest resisdents, died at the ripe age of 93 years and 8 months. Death came May 13th at his home Hague after an illness of three months. He lived in the Hague vicinity for fifty years. Burial at St Marys Catholic Cemetery, Hague, North Dakota.
Born in South Russia, September 14, 1847, he came to America in 1889 and resided at Yankton, South Dakota for six months before locating on a farm in Emmons County, North Dakota. He was married in Russia to Frances Schell who died May 3, 1904. Two years later, he married Mrs Philippina Bosch who had been blind for the past eleven years. She with four children and four step-children and one brother survive.
The children are Mrs. Monica Keller, Victor, California; Frank Volk, Hague, North Dakota; George Volk, Selfridge, North Dakota; and Anton Zahn, Linton, North Dakota; The step-children are Mrs Christ F. Bosch, Karl Bosch, Sister M. Agnes, and Gust Bosch. A brother John Volk, lives at Hague, North Dakota. There are 32 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.
