He was a veteran of the Fenian Raid & the North West Rebellion.
For 25 years he leased/owned & operated the local office of the Bell Telephone Company. Later, was in the successful Coal, Wood, & Shingle business & retired 8 yrs ago
He was active in the welfare of the Village of Colborne & serving for a long term on the Board of Education, as secretary & treasurer & was President of Lakeport Cemetery Company. Member of Trinity Anglican & served 10 yrs as Church Warden.
