MISS FREDA BALL CALLED BY DEATH
Rites Held Friday For Well Known Former Union County Woman
Mention was made in these columns last week of the death of Miss Freda I. Ball, a resident of this vicinity most of her life, on Tuesday, April 14, at the Roy Swanson home, near Chatsworth, aged 64 years, 3 months and 5 days.
Miss Ball as born January 9, 1894, at Ireton Ia. She moved to Union County, S.D., with her parents as a child. She taught in rural schools from 1935 to 1945 when she moved to Los Angeles. She returned to this vicinity a month ago due to ill health.
Surviving are three brothers, Richard, Harry and Julius Ball, all living near Akron; a half-brother, Adolph Busch of Lemon Grove, Cal., and three half-sisters Mrs. Verla Ludwig, Miss Verga Busch and Miss Erma Busch, all of near Akron.
Funeral services were held last Friday at Pleasant Hill Ev. United Brethren church, west of Akron, Donald Lunge officiating. Mrs. Jay Robertson and Mrs. Henry Wilkens sang "Good Night and Good Morning" and "We Shall Sleep, But Not Forever." Mrs. Newton Wevik was accompanist. Pall bearers were Chris Wilkens, Sigvold Sommervold, Stanley Johnson, Walter Heyl, Orville Welch and Julius Hultgren. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery.
