About Frederick "Fred" Bates
Frederick BATES is son of Richard Alfred Bates and Mary Jane Allen Bates. Frederick is step son to Elizabeth Thompson-Bradley-Bates, who raised Frederick and his brother Henry Arthur along with her own children after Richard Alfred died in 1897. Frederick married Bessie Violetta McDonald in Cumberland, B.C., on Dec 11, 1907. Fred & Bessie had two sons; Bessie died on 24 February 1934 in Williams Lake, B.C. He then married Anna Albertson in 1938.
