Frederick William Snyder, Jr.

Life

Frederick William Snyder was born in New York State to a pair of German immigrants from Bavaria, who spent time in New York, Massachusetts, Virginia, and New Jersey, before finally settling in eastern Pennsylvania. Frederick William continued his family's long tradition by becoming a barber, like his father of the same name, and his grandfather as well. However, all of his children seemingly entered the financial business -- bond traders, stockbrokers, etc. -- so I suspect that there was a side business here in investment.

Frederick William married Mary Moyer Lithgow, the daughter of two immigrants from Northern Ireland, in Camden, NJ, in 1887. They settled in Wayne, PA, and had seven children.
