I have transcribed the article as the newspaper published it. I think it is agreed that his name was Freeman James Francis. His burial was on 26 October, 1938 in Canyon Hill Cemetery

  IN CAR WRECK

__________ Local Farmer Loses Life in Collision On Franklin Road ______

    T. J. Frances, route 3, succumbed this afternoon from injuries received in a collision seven miles from Caldwell on Franklin road and Mr. and Mrs. Don Frances and small child were injured.

    The extent of their injuries was not known this afternoon as they were still undergoing an examination.

    W. W. McClurg, Boise, picked the injured persons up and rushed them to Caldwell.

    Exact time of the accident and details concerning it were lacking at press time.  The sheriff's office was notified of the wreck at 3:30.

    According to the meager information received, the Frances car collided with another auto, which, it is alleged, failed to stop at a stop sign.

Inquest In Death Of F. J. Francis  Is "Probable"

    Mr. and Mrs. Don Francis and small child were dismissed from the Memorial Park hospital late Thursday night after treatment from shock and bruises which resulted from the auto accident which claimed the life of Fremont James Francis, father of Mr. Francis.

    The death of Francis, which took place enroute to a Caldwell hospital, resulted from injuries received when a car in which Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Carr were riding collided with an auto driven by Don Francis at the intersection of the Star-Nampa and Franklin roads, one mile from the Canyon county line in Ada county.

    Investigating officers said that the Carr auto failed to stop at a stop sign.

    At Boise, J. T. McCann, coroner, said that he had not yet determined whether an inquest will be held, but said that one would "probably be conducted.

    The body is at the Peckham chapel pending funeral arrangements.
