About Friedrich (Frederick) Fell
He appears on a tax roll at Claverack in Columbia County, New York in 1767, as well as a on military dated roll 9 May 1767, Capt. Johannis Hogeboom's Company, New York Militia, in Claverack, Columbia County. He also served as a Private in Capt. Richard Esselstyn's Company, New York Militia, Columbia County. In 1777 he spent 10 months in prison in Claverack for opposing the Revolutionary War. He went to Canada about 1784 with Jessup's Rangers, and settled in Edwardsburgh Township in Ontario. He appears in censuses there in 1796 and 1798. He appears as a Private on a military pay list for services performed between 25 September 1813 and 24 December 1813 in Grenville County, Ontario, Capt. Joachim Denaut's Company 1st Reg't Grenville Militia.
