Battalion,York Co.PA.Militia in 1775; He was a Private under Capt.George Ei chelberger in the 1st Batt.York Co.Militia on 27 Dec.1775; He may have bee n in the Flying Camp near N.Y.C. 1776 and may have taken part in the Batt le of Brandywine under Gen.Washington. Friederick was enrolled sometime between 1777-80 as a Private 6th Class, Capt.Michael Hahn's 7th Co.3rd Batt .York Co.Militia. He owned three slaves in 1800.He was a tailor,innkeeper, farmer,miller, and distiller.

Frederick William Aderholdt was born 30 Oct 1748 in Uthleben, Nordhausen, Germany. Frederick was the son of Johann Casper Aderhold and Marien Cathrin Ludwig. He had at least 3 siblings: Johann Christian Aderhold (b. 19 Aug 1745), Johann Heinrich Bernard Aderhold (b. 14 Mar 1752) and Catharina Margaretha Aderhold (b. 1755).


 
 

Frederick came to Yorktown, Pennsylvania, around 1774. He became an immediate patriot as a member of the local militia in the Revolutionary War. He was enrolled in Captain Michael Hahn's Company, 1st Battalion, York Co., PA, Militia in 1775; He was a Private under Captain George Eichelberger in the 1st Battalion, York Co., PA, Militia on 27 Dec.1775. Frederick took part in the Battle of Brandywine under Gen. George Washington. Frederick was enrolled sometime between 1777-80 as a Private 6th Class,in Captain Michael Hahn's 7th Co. 3rd Battalion in York Co., PA, Militia.


 
 

Frederick owned and operated inns in Yorktown until he moved to Lincoln County, NC, in the late 1780s. He was a tailor, innkeeper, farmer, miller and distiller.


 

He owned three slaves in 1800 in NC.

 
 

Frederick married Maria Elizabetha Isheim about 1767 in Dillienburg, Germany. Maria was born about 1750 and died Nov 1810.
