About Gabriel Reyes
In 1934, Pope Pius XII appointed him as the first Filipino archbishop of Cebu. In 1949, he became the 28th Archbishop of Manila. He was the second cousin of Jaime Cardinal Sin, and a nephew of Sofia de Veyra.
