From the "mason-city-globe-gazette/1946-10-23": Mr and Mrs Christ announce the marriage of their daughter Ella Dougan to Geerd Eden son of Mr and Mrs Ermo Eden performed in the Bethlehem Lutheran church with the Rev C A Hinz officiating Oct 20 be fore an altar decked with bouquets of pink and white baby mums The bride wore a soldier blue suit with black and white acces sories and a corsage of pink rose and white carnations tied with pink ribbons The matron of honor Mrs Charles sister of the bride wore a grey pinstripe suit and a corsage of white mums and red roses Charles of the bride served as bestman The mothers of the couple wore navy blue crepe dresses and corsages of white mums and red roses Mrs C A Hinz organist played Let Me Ever Walk With Jesus as a processional and Mendels sohns wedding march as a reces and accompanied Mrs Ed win Ficken sister of the bride who sang Jesus Lead Thou On and The Lords Prayer A reception was held in the church parlors with Mmes Gilbert Luker Edwin Ficken Peter Green and Robert Heimbuch serving Decorations were carried out in blue and white The brides table was centered with white candles in crystal holders and a 3tier wed ding cake topped with a miniature bride and bridegroom The bridegroom discharged from the armed forces served 35 months in the European theater The couple will live on a farm north of Ventura Out of town guests at the wed ding included Mrs Peter Green Forest City Mr and Mrs Gilbert Luker and children Marion and Ronald Mr and Mrs Eden Clear Lake Mr and Mrs Wayne Busemann and Mr and Mrs Seidel Buckholtz Buffalo Center

He had made his home in the county for 17 years, last at 322 3rd S.W. ~:Mr. Eden was born April 14 1907, at Titonka, the son of Enno and Lina Eden, now 'of Clear Lake. He was a veteran of World War II in the European, African and Middle Eastern theaters. He received 'the .Purple Heart and three battle /stars. > Besides his parents, he is survived by eight chiidren, Marvin, Arlene, Vernon, Betty, Shirley, Larry, Carroll and Barbara; a brother, Henry Eden, Mason City and four sisters, Mrs. S. G. (Caroline) Buchholtz, Forest City, Mrs .Virgil (Vera) Osnes, Covinaj Calif.; Mrs. Leonard (Clara) Nelson, Mason City, and Mrs. Wayne (Lorraine) Buseman, Klemme. ~ Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Patterson-James Funeral Home but are not yet complete.
