After Maritje's death John G. Ryerson m. Geertje (Charity) Hesselse, dau. of Peterse Hesselse or more correctly Hessels, son of Pieterse (who was bap. in New York July 21, 1668, and whose estate is mentioned in the will of Hessel Ryerson, his grandson). He was a son of Peter Hesselse who was in New Utrecht, L. I., as early as 1659. Elected Deputy General Assessor of East Jersey, 1686. He m. Elizabeth Gerretse and removed to Bergen Co. (See Bergen's Kings County History.) The children of John G. and Geertje (Hesselse) Ryerson were:

I. Margaret Jeralemon, b. April 12, 1750; d. Sept. 19, 1830; m. in 17S2,
at Totowa, N. J., by Dominie Meyers, to Samuel, son of Jan and Catharine
(Whitaker) Burhans. He was bap. at Kingston, Nov. 16, 1755. Enlisted
in the Continental Army July 17, 1775, and fought in the Revolutionary War.

THE RYERSON GENEALOGY
continuing with Blandina Ryerson's husband, Dr. James van Beuren, the Loyalist: He was (the) son of Dr. John van Beuren, who came from Holland about 1700, and brother of Beekman Van Buren who removed to Hackensack when the British took New York.( Beekman & James?) was (were) placed by General Washington in charge of the sick and wounded soldiers at Hackensack Hospital during the Revolutionary War.
According to the Rev. Dr. Schenck, Dr. Jacobus Van Beuren resided for a while in Pompton, where, no doubt, some of his children were born. but then removed as a Loyalist refugee to New York City
Issue: I. Polly (Mary) Van Buren, b. 1760; m. 1779, Peter Mead, b. Oct. 14, 1757; d. 1827. Resided at Hook Mountain.
II. Elizabeth Van Buren, b. Dec. 17, 1761; d. Oct. 11, 1S29; m. 177S, John Mead, who resided upon the Alyea Place at Pompton Plains, N. J.
III. Sylvester Van Buren, b. 1762.
IV. Margaret Van Buren, b. 1763.
We find also the following children of Jacobus (James) Van Buren and Blandina Reyerse recorded for bap. in the records of the Hackensack and Schralenburgh Re-formed Dutch Church:

Mr. Enoch (called Nicholas) Ryerson, in a diary, or family record, which he prepared during his lifetime states that his sister, Dorothy Ryerson, resided with her aunt, Mrs. Vreeland, until she was married; also that Mr. Vreeland was a wealthy man with no children. VIII. ANTJE, b. 1736; m. Thomas Hall, who died prior to 1797. This Thomas Hall was probably her cousin, son of Joris (George) and Blandina Ryerson (dau. of Joris) Hall. Antje (Ryerson) Hall is not mentioned in the will of John G. Ryerson, with his other children, but is mentioned as the widow of Thomas Hall, and as one of his heirs in the partition of the estate made Aug. 8, 1797.
