Gen. Roque A. Lopez, the Ilonggo patriot and first President of the "Estado Federal de Visayas" and many more Ilonggo leaders, who won the revolution against Spanish colonization, thereby achieved the status as a truly independent and legitimate sovereign nation before the "Faux pas" of U.S. invasion in 1899 of the Ilonggo Nation.

ILOILO pride itself with a claim that it too pioneered the newspaper business in the country.

Amid the Illonggo "revolucionarios" and the Spanish conflict in 1898 and again between the American Yankees and Ilongos "La Revolucion". Became the chronicler of events.

Roque Aplasca Lopez was elected to be the President of Estado Federal de Bisayas (Provincial Government of the Visayas) gave birth to La Revolucion which came out three times a week. General/President Roque Lopez himself was the editor.
