

Gene T. Myers, 68, of 1011 Harriet Ave., died at home early Thursday morning after a lengthy illness.
He was the husband of Dorothy E. Raber Myers. They observed their 46th anniversary in March.
Born in Salunga, he was a son of the late Edward J. and Maggie Bortzfield Myers.
A graduate of Mount Joy High School, he attended Franklin and Marshall College for a year and the Philadelphia Museum School of Art for two years.
He had been employed by William Z. Getz Trucking as a driver until he retired in 1991. He was previously employed by E.G. Myers and Son and NCR Printing.
After retirement, Myers drove a school bus for the Hempfield School District until 1995.
A veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, he was a military police officer in Germany.
He attended Hempfield Brethren In Christ Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, a daughter, two grandchildren, and a sister.
