___________________________

Lawrenceburgh Press, IN Fe 7, 1878 "Mr. G. S. Jaquith of Wright's Corners, this county died at his residence on Tuesday Fe 5, 1878, at 1 o'clock a.m., aged sixty-eight years five months and six days. The funeral services took place at the Baptist Church, Wright's Corner, yesterday afternoon, conducted by Rev. G. Tufts. Mr. Jaquith was one of the oldest settlers and most highly esteemed citizens of the county. His father, Rueben Jaquith, emigrated to this country when deceased was about eight years of age. For forty years G. S. Jaquith has been the leading citizen at Wright's Corner. During all this long period, as merchant and farmer. His walk and conversation have been of such a character that he was beloved by all. It is doubtful if he had an enemy in the world. He leaves one brought Mr. C.C. Jaquith of Manchester; and two sisters, Mrs. Roswell Russell, of Elmwood, Ill., and Mrs. Fairbanks of Kankekee, Ill. of his own immediate family he leaves six children: Mr. Ed Jaquith, of Wright's Corner Mrs H D. McMullen, of Auroa; Mrs. Wm. Kyle of Manchester; and Misses Emma, Annie and Fannie Jaquith of Wright's Corner. His sickness had been of many months duration and seemed more a gentle going out of the candle of life, than any particular disease. This protracted illness give him ample time to make every arrangement for his death, and he talked of the event and gave the most particular directions regarding all matters in as calm a mind as if but going a short visit. He was perfectly resigned and even happy in anticipation of the change."
