About Geneva Julia Kempe
This charming, lovely young lady who passed away at such an early age was most gracious and popular. She was well educated. Besides her school at Concho, she went to high school in St. Johns. Then she attended B.Y.U. in Provo, UT. Her mother took Lottie and Jennie up there from Arizona and stayed with them. Many young folks went from Arizona. She was talented; she had learned to cook, sew, dance and played the organ and piano well. She was the church organist in Concho. No doubt she had helped her mother, Olena, with the pioneer jobs of soap-making, wool-carding, quilt-making and her father with fence-building, planting gardens. She was friendly and why she was taken so young is a mystery to everyone. While in St. Johns, AZ , she became suddenly ill and passed away shortly thereafter.
