Peter Bressler was a son of Georg Simon Bressler and Anna Barbara Unruh who were married in 1748 in Niederhochstadt, Palatinate [Germany].

He was warranted 150 acres of land in Pine Grove, Berks County (present-day Schuylkill County), Pennsylvania on 6 December 1774.

Second Lieutenant, Fifth Company, Sixth Battalion, Berks County Militia on 17 May 1777.

Ensign, Fifth Company, Second Battalion, Berks County Militia in May 1780.

He was warranted an additional 200 acres of land in Pine Grove, Berks County (present-day Schuylkill County), Pennsylvania on 19 October 1785.

In 1798, he had a barn and 199 acres in Pine Grove, valued at $497.

He removed to Centre County, Pennsylvania by 1804.

Peter Bressler purchased 162½ acres consisting of the northwest quarter of section 14 in Amanda Township, Fairfield County, Ohio on 16 June 1809. The family's cabin was subsequently built on the southern half of the farm property.

He was referred to by his middle name, "Peter" and he signed his name "Peter Bresler".

He died circa 1832 (after 6 June 1831 and probably before 18 March 1833) in Amanda Township, Fairfield County, Ohio, at the home of his daughter, Sarah Bressler (Mrs. Lloyd Hitchcock).
