George Riley Briant

Age: 75 years

Born in Clay Township, Morgan Co., Indiana, son of John S. and Rachel (Burris) Briant.

Enlisted in Union Army on August 12, 1861.
CO. A, 33rd REG. IND. VOL. - CIVIL WAR

George had his left arm shot off at the shoulder. He was discharged in February of 1863.

In December 1899, George married his former daughter-in-law, widow of his son Franklin S. Bryant.

Spelling of the last name - "Bryant and Briant"
