Funeral services for George G. Chappell, 81, of 115 W. Grand, are tentatively set at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday from First Methodist Church. The Rev. Hugh Blaylock of Wesley Methodist Church will officiate.

Burial in Highland Park Cemetery will be directed by Minton Mortuary.

The retired Santa Fe Railroad employe died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. He had been a Borger resident for 36 years.

Chappell was a member of First Methodist Church, Isom Lodge 1242 A.F. & A.M., and was a Royal Arch Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Vada; three daughters, Mrs. Bill Rives of Borger, Mrs. Thurman Felts of Roswell, N.M., Mrs. Henry Gillispie of Fullerton, Calif.; two sons, Marvin of Ardmore, Okla., J.B. of Van Nuys, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Mrs. George Chappel Jr., of Amarillo; brother, A.B. Chappell of Tulsa, Okla.; sister, Mrs. Walter Stiles of Paradise, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Chappell was preceded in death by a son, George Chappell Jr. in 1961.
