George Edward Clutters, 79, of Ironton, OH, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2014, at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, OH. The Ironton, OH native was born May 19, 1935, a son of the late Fred and Anna Mae Arthurs Clutters.
He attended school in Coryville, OH, was a former custodian for the DTI Railroad and retired from Local Labor Union #83 out of Portsmouth, OH. He was a member of the Royersville Missionary Baptist Church and also loved to hunt and fish.
He was also preceded in death by
his first wife, Evelyn Joan Crance Clutters;
his second wife, Edith Mae Blankenship Clutters;
two sons, Jimmy Clutters and Adam Clutters;
a daughter, Jacqueline Stapleton;
two brothers, Carl Clutters and Donnie Clutters;
a sister, Sharon Clutters;
a grandson, George Clutters III.
He is survived by
three sons, Allen (Janice) Clutters, George (Kathy) Clutters Jr. and Curtis (Beverly Smith) Clutters all of Ironton, OH;
two daughters, Patricia (Davy) Taylor of Ironton, OH and Judy (Richard) Bridges of Kitts Hill, OH;
three sisters, Mary Ann Neal of Florida, Freida Cade of Waverly, OH and Pat (Don) Hall of Indiana;
26 grandchildren, several great and great great grandchildren.
Funeral service at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, OH with Rev. Rock Massie officiating. Burial in Woodland Cemetery.
