About George Cutfield
Born in Deal, 1799.
Died 22nd January, 1879.
An architect in naval dockyards in Devonport.
He was also leader in charge of Settlers from the William Bryan.
Farmed in Tataraimaka.
Later he held several influential gonvernmental positions in NZ.
Extracts from Plymouth to New Plymouth suggest the Cutfield was not accomodating to Carringtions request to build settlement.
He introduced many english garden plant seeds to New Zealand.
Died in 1879 with no descendants.
