There are several references to him in this book including his services as an elder and moderator.

George and his wife,Catherine, are first cousins on their mother's side. Catherine's mother, Sarah Johnston Davis and George J.'s mother, Elizabeth Johnston Davis were sisters. Sarah married "Jarsey Billy" and Elizabeth married "Greenbriar Billy".
