George was the son of John and Sarah Ettinger Enders. He married Susan Warner, the daughter of John Warner (1810-1902) and Catharine Warner (1815-1898), on Dec. 26, 1858. George and Susan had 4 children. He was a shoemaker, farmer, school teacher, Justice of the Peace for 24 years, a lay preacher, and United Brethren Sunday School superintendent for 25 years. George established a general store in 1884 and was the first president of the Enders Monumental Association.
