"George Hench Bernheisel, aged 50 years, 7 months and 15 days, was found dead in bed at his home at Van Wert, Ohio, July 21 ... At the time of his death he was alone, his wife and one daughter were at Mullet Lake, Michigan and the other daughters were on vacation in Wyoming ... George Hench Bernheisel, only son of the late Mr. S. H. Bernheisel, of Bloomfield, and Mrs. Anna Hench Bernheisel, at present of Mechanicsburg, was born in New Bloomfield, December 5, 1891, and grew to young manhood here, where he attended the public schools ... In 1910 graduated from Lock Haven Normal School ... entered University of Maine from which he graduated in 1915 ... following graduation he was employed as an agricultural extension worker in Maine, leaving in 1917 to attend Officers' Training Camp at Plattsburg, N.Y. As a captain of Field Artillery in the First World War he saw over-seas duty ... following his release from the Army, he became associated with the Stetson Shoe Company, Boston ... In 1937 he moved to Ohio, where he began his work with the Paulding Sugar Refining Company ...

In 1921, he was married to Miss Blanche Olds, of Shoboygan, Michigan, who survives with three daughters: Joanna, Margaret and Barbara. Mr. Bernheisel is also survived by his mother, Mrs. S. H. Bernheisel, Mechanicsburg, and the following sisters: Mrs. Harriet Maloney and Mrs. Catherine Ertel, Philadelphia; Mrs. Isadore Williams, Camden, New Jersey; Mrs. Anna May Tilten, New Orleans, and Mrs. Helen Hutter, of Mechanicsburg. A sister, Rachael died some years ago ... Funeral services were held in Van Wert, Thursday, July 23 ..."Page: 113
