About George William Hamilton
George "Spike" Hamilton (1901-1957) was a popular bandleader[1] who led a band based at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.[2] Among the musicians in the band included Ray Robbins, Spike Jones and Leighton Noble. In the 1930s, he appeared in the movie Gift of Gab. He also appeared in a 1937 short film entitled Sunday Night at the Trocadero. Hamilton also developed a perfume called "White Shoulders".
His first wife was Ann Stevens, formerly Mrs. William Potter, with whom he had two sons, David Hamilton and actor George Hamilton.[3] His second wife was June Howard.
