DEATH CLAIMS GEORGE HARDY
George Willard Hardy, 52, died this morning at his home, 756 West Center Street, following a paralytic stroke suffered a week ago.
Mr. Hardy, well known here, was born in Provo, Dec. 24, 1884, a son of James and Elizabeth Smith Hardy. He had always made his home here, during his early life working at the Knight Woolen Mills. Following its closing, he was employed by the American Express Company for 10 years, and then for nine years, worked at the Utah State hospital.
Five years ago, Mr. Hardy suffered a slight stroke, and since then has been assistant custodian at the city and county building. He was a faithful member of the L. D. S. church, holding the office of an elder.
He married Myrtle Freshwater in Salt Lake City, Aug. 15, 1906, and she died Feb. 28, 1928. Sept. 10, 1931, he was married to Fern Hoover Corbett, who survives. also two sons and three daughters, as follows: Don Hardy, Los Angeles; Byron Hardy, Provo; Mrs. Zella Johnson and Mrs. Evelyn Jordan, Springville; Florence Hardy, Provo; one step-son; Lester Corbett, Long Beach; one step-daughter, Mrs. Barbara: Mathews, Long Beach; three grandchildren; two brothers, Albert S. Hardy, Salt Lake City, and Thomas S. Hardy, Provo, and one sister, Mrs. Phoebe Jones, Provo.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 o'clock at the Pioneer Ward Chapel, with Bishop Leon Newren in charge. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary Saturday evening and at the home Sunday morning. Interment will be in the Provo City Burial Park.

George Willard Hardy, 52, died at his residence at 756 West Center Street, Provo, Utah of a cerebral hemorrhage on October 7, 1936. He had been a resident of Provo all of his life.
He had worked at Dian City and County Building. Survivors are his wife, Fern Hoover Hardy.
Interment was made at the Provo Cemetery in Provo, Utah. Berg Mortuary handled the funeral arrangements.
