Civil War, Confederate Army, Private, 26th Alabama Regiment, (O'Neals), Company A ("Dixie Boys")
Pvt. Born April 16, 1824 in Fayette County, Alabama. Died in Yorktown, Virginia according to survivors account. But he apparently survived and joined the 56th Alabama. Took oath August 9, 1865 in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. Died January 16, 1902 and buried in Rocky Mounty Cemetery near Covin, Fayette County, Alabama. The Howton boys were all brothers.
