George Lageson, 64, longtime Blanchardville area resident, died Tuesday, September 27, 1983 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Clare Hospital, Monroe, of leukemia. He had been ill the past three years.

Born July 1, 1919, in the Town of York, Green County, he was the son of Edward and Helga Berg Lageson. He attended grade school at Blanchardville and also Blanchardville High School.

He married the former Rosella Cenite on May 30, 1965 in Monroe. He farmed his entire life on the home farm until he moved into the village in 1981.

Survivors include his wife, Rosella; one daughter, Catherine Jo, at home; seven brothers, Doyle, Rockford; Robert, Monroe; and Glenn, James, Erling, Donald and William, Blanchardville; and five sisters, Mrs. Ben (Eunice) Larson, Mrs. William (Jane) Rupnow and Mrs. Oscar (Ruth) Vamstad, all of Blanchardville; Mrs. Jean Trumpy, Monroe, and Mrs. Edward (Betty) Schmidt, Madison.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral rites will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, Sept. 30, at the Blanchardville Lutheran Church. The Rev. Wayne Henderson will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Blanchardville.

Friends may call Thursday, Sept. 29, 3-9 p.m., at the Saether Funeral Home, Blanchardville.
