George Thomas Lawrence

George Thomas Lawrence was born August 28, 1854 in Morgan County, Ohio and died at his home five miles west of Corning, May 12, 1906. His parents, Thomas H. and Patience B. Lawrence, with their family moved to Adams County in 1855. Deceased was married December 22, 1876 to Nancy Emeline Strait, who departed this life about twelve years ago. This union was blessed with then children, three boys and seven girls, all of whom are living to mourn the loss of a kind and loving father. The funeral services were held at the residence, conducted by Rev. A. Y. Cupp, assisted by Rev. Elliott Voorhees. Interment was made in the Baldwin Cemetery, and was attended by a large concourse of relatives and friends, which indicated the degree of respect for the deceased and the sympathy for the bereaved.

Our neighborhood has been called to mourn the loss of one of our friends and neighbors, George Lawrence, who departed this life Saturday, May 12th. A large number of friends gathered at the home on Monday to pay tho last respect to the deceased and to sympathize with the grief stricken children, the mother of tho home having died some twelve years ago.
