On Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Annual Convention and General Meeting of Skate Canada, which is celebrating its 125th anniversary, George A. Meagher (1866-1930) will be inducted into the Hall of Fame! George was Amateur Figure Skating World Champion in 1891, and Professional World Champ in 1898. Writer of books on figure skating, instrumental in introducing ice Hockey to Europe and a guest in the courts of Europe, George was also an excellent painter and art collector.
