George M Perdew

PERDEW 09 Sep 1915 Prof. George M Perdew, aged 69 years, died today at his home

on Chase Street of ulceration of the stomach. A native of Bean’s Cove, he served

Allegany County schools for 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth

Perdew; 3 daughters, Mrs F G Cowherd of Rock Hill SC; Mrs H S Hayward of

Cumberland; and Miss Mary Perdew of Cumberland; and 2 sons, Prof. Arch G Pewdew,

principal of Luke School; and Jerome S Perdew of Pittsburgh. He was the son of

Archibald Perdew, of the pioneer family of Bean’s Cove and also survived by

these brothers and sisters: Mrs Rebecca Bennett; Mrs Alice O’Neal of Cumberland;

Mrs Sarah Robinson of Purcell PA; Neri Pewdew and William Perdew , both of

Portland OR. The funeral is from his home and burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, with
