George Wesley Pratt married Dorinda Alice Masters 15 Dec 1870 in Lee County, MS. He is the son of William Buchanan and Mary Ann Smith Pratt.

G.W. Pratt, a pioneer citizen of Eliasville, died at the home of a son, two miles north of Jean, Texas.

Graveside services for George Wesley Pratt were officiated by Rev. Hugh Clark, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church at Breckenridge, Texas.

George Wesley Pratt moved to Young County, Texas in 1884, settling at Eliasville, Texas in 1885 where he lived and raised his 10 children. HIs wife and two children preceded him in death.

He had been a member of the Christian Church many years and was a devoted Christian. He always took part in the affairs of his community and was especially thoughtful of the needs of the poor and unfortunate. He was a member of an old fashioned home of 14 children.
