About George Reeves

It is not yet known exactly when or where George died. From his son's World War I record, he was dead prior to 1918, and may have died anytime between 1880-1918 (his name is mentioned on his son Arthur's 1912 marriage certificate). One tree on Ancestry gives his death as 1915 - this is incorrect and is actually the death of George Reeve (1839-1918) (ID 248668061). It is hoped that one day we can find the newspaper report or death record for this George.

George and Caroline Moore married in St Anne's Church in Lewes, Sussex, England, on 30 July 1865. George was said to be a brickmaker. The family emigrated to New Zealand on board the 'Cardigan Castle', arriving on 15 November 1873 and making their home in Christchurch.
