About George Roe (Bannister)
George was left with the bannister family when he was approx 3 years old. (Adoption was not legal in Ireland at that time) As far as we know they lived in Sunnybank Bray Co.Wicklow and were in the coach buisness either making or operating. His father William Roe was a coachman. George kept the Bannister name all his life. The photo to the left is his adopted mother. He lived at 55 Aughrim st. N.C.Rd Dublin7 ( at that time right opposite the house was the largest cattle market in Dublin where cows,pigs,sheep were traded every wednesday) and raised his family there and was a regular attender at St.Pauls Church North King St. He had no proper education and was Managing Director of George Norton @ Sons of Moore St. they had some more shops in Dublin. They were china shops. He retired from there 30th June 1953
