(Maine) Probate Records: 13/337: GEORGE ROGERS of Kittery, Will dated 24 December 1779: "George Rogers of Kittery, yeoman, being aged and infirm of body, devises: to my wife Joann one half of all my personal estate forever, the west lower room in my dwelling for life, and one-third of the yearly income from my lands in Kittery for life, without improving the same, and all monies due me -- all in lieu of a dowry; to my daughter Abigail Rogers, besides what I have her, the sum of L60; to my daughter Mary Rogers, the same; to my daughter Hannah Remick, L30; to my daughter Eunice Rogers, L75; to my daughter Joanna Rogers, L75; if my wife should die before all of my daughters wed, the west room shall be occupied by them while they are unmarried; to my sons James Rogers and Richard Rogers, equally divided, a moiety of all my lands in Kittery and my dwelling house on said land with all other buildings thereon, each giving the other first choice in the event of selling his share; to my son John Rogers, the other one half of my lands in Kittery with all the buildings thereon not otherwise disposed of, he paying one half of the legacies to my daughters and delivering the bequest to his mother; to my son Nathaniel Rogers, 50 acres in Berwick, a part of lot 15, 2nd check, Kittery Commons in Berwick; to my son George Rogers, 6/; to my two sons James and Richard Rogers, 100 acres in Berwick at lot 35, 1st check, Kittery Commons in Berwick; the remainder I give to my wife and three sons, they paying my just debts.
