The son of Mathias Schleeper and Anna "Mary" Kiel, George married Rosa "Rose" Snyders on 25 Oct 1921 in Calhoun County, Illinois. He was a farmer, and they were the parents of 3 children.
George was a life-long resident of Calhoun County. The Schleepers were members of St. Norbert's Catholic Church in Meppen.
He was hospitalized for 3 weeks at Jersey Community Hospital when he died there at the age of 80 years, 8 months and 30 days old.
He was survived by his wife, Rose; 2 daughters, Lenora Rose and Beatrice Kamp; 1 son, Alfred Schleeper; 10 grandchildren; and 1 brother, John Schleeper of Hardin, Illinois.
Visitation was held at the C. C. Hanks Funeral Home in Hardin. A parish rosary was recited there at 7:30 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 8 p.m. on 05 Sep 1967. Funeral services and a Requiem Mass were conducted at 10 a.m. the following morning at St. Norbert's Catholic Church in Meppen.
George's wife, Rose, passed away in 1973 and was buried next to him.
