George W Shoufler, was born in marion Co. ind. in 1822. He married Diantha M. Hoover, 6, Sep. 1868. George Shoufler was a civil war veteran services with 51st Ind. Inf. SHOUFLER b: 12 APR 1878 in Milford, Iroquois Co., IL Amos Otis SHOUFLER b: 21 OCT 1880 in Milford, Iroquois Co., IL Jesse SHOUFLER b: 21 APR 1882 in Milford, Iroquois Co., IL Horace Geeley SHOUFLER b: 3 SEP 1885 in Milford, Iroquois Co., IL. George W. Shoufler, Died, at his home in this city on Sunday evening, May 29th, Geo. W. Shouffler, of consumption and dropsy, aged sixty-six years. The deceased has been ailing for the past year, being confined to his couch during the last two weeks. He was born near Indianapolis, IN, January 28th, 1822, and has been a resident of Milford for more than thirty years. He was married some thirty years ago to Dica Hoover and to them eleven children have been born, the mother and six sons surviving. Mr. Shouffler did service in the late war, being a member of the 51st Indiana. He was a member of Vennum Post GAR under whose auspices the services were conducted from the residence Tuesday, Rev. Wright offering prayer and making a few brief remarks. Interment took place at Maple Grove cemetery.
