About George Boeshore Shuey
24 May 1945: George Shuey, 59, of Ono, a widely known painter who was employed at his trade at the Indiantown Gap Military Reservation since the outbreak of the war, died suddenly at his home this morning from a heart attack as he was preparing to eat breakfast and depart for his employment. Mr. Shuey apparently was in the best of health shortly before the stroke for he conversed freely with his wife, the former Lillian Gerberich and specified what he wished for breakfast. He was a resident of the Ono locality all his life and belonged to Walmers Church. Aside from his wife, he leaves the following children: Marvin of Jonestown, Route 2; Forrest of Annville, Rt. 2, Staff SGT Ammon W. Shuey, with the U.S. Armed forces, England, and a stepdaughter Mrs. Raymond Wentling, of Ono. He is also survived by his father, Henry Shuey, living near Harpers, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Thomas Yorty, Grantville; Mrs. Daniel Roebuck, near Harpers; Cyrus Shuey, Jonestown Rt 2; William Shuey, Ebenezer; Mrs. Frank Miller, Palmyra; Mrs. John Gerberich, Annville Tr. 2; John Shuey, Annville Rt. 2; Harvey Shuey, Jonestown; and Frank Shuey, Annville. Internment at the cemetery at Indiantown Gap. [note: Walmers is located adjacent to Indiantown Gap. He is NOT buried in the National cemetery there.][Lebanon Daily News]
