APPLE CREEK George S. Hackett, 86, of Apple Creek, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center, Inc.Services will be Tuesday, Dec. 30, at noon at Apple Creek United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Karen Oehl officiating. Interment will follow in Apple Creek Cemetery.Friends will be received on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Apple Creek United Methodist Church, 269 W. Main St., Apple Creek 44606, in his memory.He was born Feb. 5, 1917, in Apple Creek, the son of George Clarence and Carrie (Stauffer) Hackett.He was a dairy farmer and had worked for 20 years in the maintenance department at Wooster Brush.He was a member of Apple Creek United Methodist Church.Surviving is a daughter, Barbara Hamilton of Van Nuys, Calif.; sons, Dr. Robert (Nancy) Hackett of Grand Junction, Colo., and Richard (Diane) Hackett of Wooster; and seven grandchildren, Lisa Hamilton of California, Lindsey, Timothy and Gregory Hackett of Colorado, Sean, Staci and Sarah Hackett of Wooster.Preceding him in death was his wife, Wilma Sutton Hackett, on April 5, 2002, whom he married Oct. 27, 1939, brothers, Roy and Harrold, sisters, Verna Ely and Mildred Carson, and a grandson, Robert Hamilton.
