The following Will is recorded in Elbert Co., GA Will Book 1805, pages 88-89:
"In the name of God Amen I George Turman, Senr. of the County of Elbert and State of Georgia being of sound mind and perfect memory but afflicted in body do make this my last will and testament in form and manner following Viz I leave to my beloved wife Elizabeth all my estate real and personal during her natural life and at her death to be disposed of in the following manner Viz To my son Jacob I give my land and plantation whereon I now live containing one hundred and ten acres more or less also a negro boy named Ben To my daughter Sarah Lancaster I give a negro woman named Lydia and a horse- also I give to Garrat one dollar, and John one dollar, Robert one dollar, Isaac one dollar, Rebecah Claton one dollar, Nancy Turman one dollar, one negroe man named David to be free at our deaths all of the rest of my estate to be equally divided between Elizabeth Lancaster and Milly Rogers and Zilly Roberts and Elizabeth Higginbotham. I constitute and appoint my beloved wife Elizabeth, William Hatcher and Thomas Burton executors to this my last will and testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 1st day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five.
