Disputed Origins
From Eric Hutton April 2019
As stated on Geni, the George Wynne in question was the paternal grandfather of Sir George Winn [sic], 1st baronet of Nostell. According to family tradition (never verified), he was an ancestor of mine. Burke's Peerage says that George Wynne was allegedly descended from the Wynns [sic] of Gwydir, who, incidentally, claimed descent from Rhodri the Great. See:

Nothing I have ever consulted over the years has listed any definitively established forebears of the George Wynne who is the subject of this email. Yet the online genealogy that you and others have compiled not only does this but goes back on some line altogether different from the alleged line of descent with which I am familiar. How is this? I would be very grateful to know what your sources have been.
