He married Hannah Adams, daughter of John Adams and Vahineatua (?), in 1821 on Pitcairn Island. He died on 4 May 1831 in Tahiti. The children of George Young and Hannah Adams were George Martin Frederick Young, born 1822, died 25 September 1899; Simon Young, born 11 August 1823, died 26 September 1893; Dinah Young, born 16 November 1824, died 9 May 1881; Elizabeth Young, born 8 September 1826, died 10 October 1863; Jemima Young, born 31 October 1828, died 5 May 1868; and Martha Young, born 19 January 1830, died 30 January 1872.
