About Gerctruy Hasbrouck
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/6421947/gerctruy-hasbrouck
Gerctruy, the baby daughter of Abraham and Cathrine (nee Bruyn) Hasbrouck, was born in January 1746 and died the following July, "aged 6 months & 17 days". Her gravestone appears to be the work of the "Common Jersey Carver", a colonial era craftsman who was active in the NY-NJ Metro area at the time of her death. (See gravestone of John Biglow, Whippany Burial Ground, Whippany, NJ.) The delicate-featured soul effigy which appears in the tympanum of Gerctruy's gravestone is of a type often used for children's steles. The inscription appears below. ∼
