In the Prang Kasi area were three working camps for prisoners of war occupied during the construction of the Thailand-Burma Railway. The camps were Prang Kasi (Kilo) occupied by Dutch POW; Prang Kasi camp east of the now defunct railway station and Prang Kasi (south) with British and Australian of D-Force in a riverside camp south of railway station.
