EXETER — Gilbert J. "Gil" Rimbaud died July 22, 2010, at home with his wife and daughter by his side, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Gil was born Jan. 24, 1955, in Hempstead, N.Y., the son of the late Gilbert J. and Pauline Rimbaud.
Survivors include his loving wife and best friend, Debra Glass Rimbaud; daughter, Colby E. Glass, whom he loved dearly, and her companion, Matthew Davis; sister, Monique Woods and her husband, Robert, of Manchester; father and mother-in-law, R. Vernon and Carole Glass of Newfields; sisters-in-law, Robin D'eon and her husband, John, of Exeter, Karen Chase of Exeter and Susan Waymouth and her husband, Preston, of Dover and Foxcroft, Maine; brother-in-law, Ross Glass and his wife, Jill, of North Berwick, Maine; nieces, Hilary, Jessica, Amanda; nephews, Robbie, Justin and Christopher; great-nieces, Taylor, Kayley and Isabella; great-nephew, Cameron and his canine companion, Brady.
Visiting hours will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, in the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter. A Celebration of Gil's life will be held on Friday, July 30 at 1 p.m. in the Newfields Community Church, 71 Main St., Newfields, followed by refreshments and a dove release at the river's edge at the Newfields Public Boat Landing. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private.
